For those wishing to pre-plan their funeral Walter H. Squires & Son are proud to recommend their Independent Way Funeral Plan.
Provided in association with Golden Charter,
the UK’s leading independent funeral plan provider, Walter H. Squires & Son’s
Independent Way Funeral Plan provides peace of mind for those who want to spare their
family or loved ones the burden of high funeral costs and the worry of deciding on the
funeral arrangements.
Consideration for others is the most frequent
reason for buying a funeral plan. With Walter H. Squires & Son’s Independent Way
Funeral Plan you’ll know that your loved ones will be spared some of the burden of
bereavement. You'll have specified every detail of the funeral in advance and made
provision for the costs.
Financial security
You can be sure that your money will always be
safe. Your payment will go directly to the Golden Charter Trust, which will hold the
money for your funeral our on behalf. This is why Walter H. Squires & Son are
able to provide a legally binding contract, guaranteeing that your selected arrangements
will be carried out when required.
The Trust Fund is a legally separate entity
from Golden Charter. In the unlikely event of something untoward affecting the company,
the Trust Fund would continue until every plan has been carried out.
Proven value
A 2008 survey showed that the UK national
average cost of a funeral increased by 6.6% over the prior twelve months. Even
high-interest building society accounts would have failed to keep up with such
increases.
A funeral plan is also better value than
insurance-based funeral expenses policies. The principle disadvantage is that they
don't guarantee to cover funeral costs or allow you to specify the arrangements.
If you are in reasonable health, you may well end up paying much more in premiums
than the insurance company will ever pay out.
Once you've paid for your funeral plan, you
can be sure that neither your loved ones nor your estate will be asked for a penny
more for the services within our control - no matter how much these costs may rise
in years to come.
An allowance for disbursements
Some costs are paid by us on your behalf but
are not within our control. Known as disbursements, they include the fees of cemeteries,
crematoria, doctors, clergy, newspaper notices and memorials. The Trust
Fund invests its
funds in a cautious and balanced way with a view to maintaining a level growth at
least equivalent to the increases in inflation.
If the increase in disbursements is greater
than the Trust Fund growth there might be a balance to pay at the time of need.
